There’s some real risk-taking in wanting to reinterpret a pop masterpiece (Radiohead’s Amnesiac) or complete a legend’s album in his absence, in this case the late Jóhann Jóhannsson who passed away two years ago today and who always claimed to be fascinated with this Belgian quartet with whom he’d often worked. Simply put, let’s say that Echo Collective dabbles in classical yet accessible avant-garde, uplifting the soul to transport it to the limits of revelation. Their heartrending music will bloom in Carouge’s magnificent temple.
