A huge name in folk music is coming to Antigel: Irish virtuoso Luka Bloom has switched identities many times throughout his 30-year career to end up being completely unique.
First, he changed his name to avoid the crushing shadow of his ten-year older brother, the great pioneer of folk’s revival, Christy Moore. Then Luka Bloom decided to invent his own electro-acoustic guitar sound and diversify his repertoire, to the extent of covering LL Cool J’s I Need Love and taking it to new, unexpected heights. A deep and powerful, yet particularly gentle performer, Bloom has gradually slipped towards Irish traditional culture to now show us his most peaceful side, and share stories on the fly: his songs tell of his daily life, a life that he loves to share with his audience. The evening is bound to be full of crusty anecdotes!
