This winter for Antigel, haunted songwriter David Eugene Edwards will leave his mountains in Denver for a little European stroll. A serendipitous privilege.
For those who might not be familiar with this succession of first names, let’s simply say that David Eugene Edwards is the driving force behind 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand. That’s much more obvious, isn’t it? The high-class, solitary embodiment of these two legendary combos now serves his recipe solo, drawing on all the ingredients of the American melting-pot (blues, bluegrass, neo-folk, gospel even) and spitting it out onto our very heartstrings. It goes well beyond basic charisma: Edwards is deeply haunted, even when he remains motionless, eyes closed. Edwards and Antigel, now that’s a love match. To celebrate this gift from heaven, you’d want more than a dull venue, would you? A real place of communion like Satigny’s temple for example, now that’ll do!
