Espace Vélodrome
On the eve of the 20th century, the popularity of cycling led the city of Geneva to multiply projects for the construction of a velodrome. In 1922, the track in Plan-les-Ouates was the theatre of many popular events meetings. If the site had to be demolished in 1968 for security reasons (anti-collapse test positive), the opening in great pomp and circumstance of the Espace Velodrome in 2004 rekindled the people's fervour for social gatherings. The performance venue and state-of-the-art sports hall puts the local culture back on track!
